Bayside Historical Society was founded in 1964 to collect, preserve and disseminate information concerning the history of Bayside, Queens, and its adjacent communities and to advocate for the preservation and protection of its most historic structures and distinctive neighborhoods. Bayside Historical Society serves as a learning destination, a resource for researchers and the community, and a venue for the visual and performing arts. BHS offers an array of public programs in the arts and humanities in conjunction with exhibits, collections, and current events that are comprehensive and meaningful, speak to contemporary life, and cultivate appreciation for the area's historic, natural, and cultural resources.
