I think so. There were loads of school trips happening at this time. The Birds of Prey are very cool, especially if you see them in a show. Besides that, the gardens themselves are beautiful and extensive. There's a cool bit about the history of plants as medicine which is quite information dense but depending on the sensibilities of your children they might be intrigued by as well. The tropical glasshouse is also really interesting and different (unless you regularly go to the Eden Project or Kew Gardens or something) with lots of cool looking plants from around the world.
