If traveling from Sofia to Plovdiv, you will save 50% if you order a cab from Plovdiv to come and pick you up. It cost 120 leva. If you take a Sofia cab to Plovdiv it is 200 leva. I just did this a couple weeks ago. The drive is 1.5 hours max or more if there is fog, snow, or icy conditions on the highway. The other option is taking a bus or train but it takes longer. Kapana area is in downtown and well known place so you will have no trouble with that. My suggestion is staying a night in Sofia ( if you have the time) so you can arrange for a cab. I can give u a number for a honest cab company. (I'm Bulgarian so i know). Cab in Plovdiv is very cheap but few speak english so be prepared to show addresses and possibly screenshots of the location on a map. I'd be haply to help with all your other questions too as BG is quite different from western europe.
