great castle in quaint town. filmed in monty python and the holy grails rude frenchman scene. a lot of castle still left to see.Full review by bobkat666

Can you take dogs

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead and not taken up the tower. A very dog friendly venue.

Hello, yes you can look around, but as with any old castle/building not easy for anyone with walking problems, with lot's of uneven surfaces. Hope this helps you.

Are there picnic tables close to the car park?

There are picnic tables inside the castle, near the entrance and around the bailey.

There is a tea room at the farm next door - approx. 2 minutes walk away - cakes, sandwiches, light bites etc.
