During his first visit to Ahmedabad, Aryan Asari (17), a resident of Gujarat’s Aravalli district, couldn’t control his excitement as he watched airplanes flying from a very low height and recorded them through his mobile phone to show them to his friends back at home.

On June 12, as news emerged that an Air India flight bound for London crashed shortly after takeoff in Ahmedabad, India, a video ( archived) circulated online claiming to authentically show the final moments before the crash from inside the cabin.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday said the Union government must fix accountability in the horrific Air India plane crash. Talking to reporters after meeting injured persons at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, Kharge also said the Centre must give compensation to the kin of the deceased and to the injured.
