Temperatures will remain very cold through the rest of the week with the next storm arriving late Friday into Saturday bringing more snow.

Forecasters have increasing confidence that Alabama will have to deal with some winter precipitation on Friday. The big questions remain about who gets snow, who gets ice and who gets rain. Above is the The National Weather Service said confidence continued to increase about the probability of winter precipitation affecting the northern half of the state on Thursday into Friday.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville issued a winter weather advisory Monday for all of north Alabama and is forecasting cold temperatures through the week with the possibility of snow late Thursday into Saturday morning in north Alabama.

Friday and Saturday will be labeled Impact Days because there will be a threat of some snow and ice across Central Alabama. Impact Days mean that you should remain aware and the weather may be disruptive enough to cause changes to your normal daily routine.

A major winter storm moving through Illinois and much of the Midwest was impacting parts of Northeastern Illinois Monday morning, with snow and freezing drizzle expected to continue for some as the day goes on,
