Boston’s Jayson Tatum had to leave the game in Sacramento in the third quarter after he pulled up for a 3-pointer over Domantas Sabonis and came down on the foot of the Kings’ center, rolling his ankle. Sabonis’ reckless closeout took away Tatum’s landing space and he was given a Flagrant 1 foul for it.

With Boston all but locked into the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, the team could err on the side of caution in the coming days.

Celtics fans held their collective breath late Monday night, as superstar forward Jayson Tatum left Boston’s game against the Sacramento Kings due to a left ankle sprain. Tatum suffered the injury midway through the third quarter of Boston’s eventual 113-95 win over the Kings.
