Sunday is a First Alert Weather Alert Day for a major winter storm pushing through our area that will result in problematic road conditions and heavy snow into the start of the week. Officials have warned that travel may be "impossible" Sunday and into the start of the work week.

Although a major winter storm will move into the Kansas City area beginning Saturday afternoon, most of the snow is expected to fall on Sunday.

The National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings from Kansas and Missouri — where blizzard conditions are expected — to New Jersey.
