The disaster's total death toll reached two dozen by Friday night, with many people still missing after catastrophic flooding along the Guadalupe River.

The National Weather Service said a flash flood emergency is ongoing in south-central Kerr County, including the Guadalupe River.

Months worth of heavy rain fell in a matter of hours on Texas Hill Country, Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha said.

The devastating floods have claimed 13 lives. Twenty children are missing, and officials say more deaths are expected.

The flooding brought the Guadalupe to its second-highest point in history, according to the National Weather Service, which urged people in the affected area to move to higher ground.

At the all-girls Camp Mystic, located in Hunt – about 17 miles from Kerrville – staff notified parents that all campers at Cypress Lake and Senior Hill are accounted for, adding that those whose daughters are "not accounted for" have been notified.
