A fire broke out in Sector 18 of Prayagraj`s Mahakumbh Mela Kshetra on Friday, prompting swift action from firefighters, ANI reported. Multiple fire tender teams are at the scene, working to extinguish the blaze.

Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, a once-in-144-year spiritual gathering, commenced on January 13. The congregation is expected to draw 450 million devotees to the Triveni Sangam. Maha Kumbh will go on until February 26.

As many as 20-22 tents were burnt in this fire incident, however, no injury or loss of live was reported in the incident.

PRAYAGRAJ: A massive fire broke out at a pandal at Maha Kumbh mela Sector 18 on Friday morning. The fire was reported from Shankaracharya Marg following which several fire tenders were sent to the spot.

A group of 68 Hindu pilgrims from Pakistan's Sindh province visited Prayagraj for sacred rituals at the Mahakumbh, immersing ancestral ashes and seeking spiritual peace.

Earlier, the Varanasi district administration had ordered the closure of schools in urban areas amid a rise in the number of pilgrims thronging the city.

The ongoing Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj is witnessing an overwhelming spiritual surge, marking its 25th day. Today, the crowd gathered at the Sangam is larger than ever, especially after the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti.
