The National Endowment for the Arts removed President Donald Trump's "gender ideology" requirements from grant funding applications on Friday, following the ACLU's lawsuit filed just one day prior. Arts organization can now apply for funding without adhering to the president's "anti-woke" eligibility criteria.

The lawsuit claims that new grant requirements prohibiting promoting "gender ideology" violate First and Fifth Amendment rights.

The American Civil Liberties Union filed suit on behalf of four arts and theater organizations challenging new restrictions placed on federal grants by the National Endowment for the Arts to comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order prohibiting promotion of gender ideology.
