In his ruling, Judge Davis said that Dominion presented “clear and convincing evidence” that the statements from Newsmax were false and that they would “likely cause reasonable viewers to think significantly less favorably about Dominion than if the viewers knew the truth.”

The pro-Trump channel Newsmax defamed Dominion Voting Systems by falsely accusing the company of rigging the 2020 presidential election, a Delaware judge ruled Wednesday.

Dominion is seeking $1.6 billion in damages, which will be decided by a jury in a trial that will begin April 28 unless a settlement is reached.
