Bayside High School runner Andrew Salvodon set a national high school record in the 500-meters, and in the process, topped Olympic gold medal winner Quincy Wilson in an electric atmosphere at the VA Showcase Friday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.

Andrew Salvodon broke the national record in the boys 500 meters (1:00.49) and in the process beat Paris Olympic gold medal list Quincy Wilson who finished second.

Olympic gold medalist Quincy Wilson will be among the more than 6,000 track athletes from more than 25 states who will be in Virginia Beach for the VA Showcase track meet from Friday to Sunday.
