The eastbound lanes of I-70 were closed in Wheat Ridge Thursday morning after a deadly crash. The crash happened just after 5 a.m. near Ward Road. Eastbound lanes of I-70 were closed from West 32nd Avenue to Ward Road. Eastbound traffic was diverted onto 6th Avenue during the crash investigation and clean up.

One person is dead after a crash on I-70, according to the Wheat Ridge Police Department. Police reportedly received a call around 5:15 a.m. about two cars involved in a crash. One person died at the scene.

A man appeared in court Friday after he allegedly drove under the influence and caused a crash on Interstate 70 that killed a woman in Wheat Ridge. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the victim's funeral.
