Experts say the technology could reshape the U.S. workforce, boosting productivity but potentially displacing some jobs as automation becomes more widespread.
The new facility, located at 137 Lathrop Road, will serve customers across Eastern Connecticut and parts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Amazon announced recently it is hiring people for holiday seasonal jobs with some of those jobs at warehouses in Jackson County.
While hiring is taking place across the country, opportunities in Hawaii are centered at Amazon’s delivery station on Sand Island, which just marked its one-year anniversary.
Amazon’s new Plainfield delivery warehouse will employ 275 workers, support 350 drivers, and speed deliveries across eastern CT, RI and MA.
