Severe storms from Texas to Kentucky can bring hail, damaging wind, and tornado threat Tuesday across the South and Midwest.
A tornado watch is also in effect for the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex until 9 p.m.
Drivers are being urged to take steps to protect their vehicles from costly hail damage, such as parking in a garage or covered area, using thick blankets or car covers, and monitoring weather alerts.
The weather service said areas north of Interstate 20 and west of Highway 281 will be under a moderate hail threat from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
