The 2025 college football regular season is humming right along as Week 9 is here. My College Football Projection Model looks to make it back-to-back winning weeks after making a (small) profit during Week 8. If you’ve followed me for some time, you know I’ll take any sort of winning week and won’t complain about it.
Week 9 of the 2025 college football season should, once again, prove pivotal in a loaded SEC race. The SEC is home to all three games featuring ranked opponents during Saturday's slate, including two clashes between top-15 foes.
ESPN has updated its Total QBR rankings after Week 8, and Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin is making a move up the Big Ten ranks.
Trying to to stay undefeated, the 7-0 Montana Grizzlies face off against Sacramento State to help kick off Week 9 of the college football season.
The numbers don't lie. Stockton was surgical, completing 26-of-31 passes for 289 yards, four touchdowns, and no turnovers in Georgia's thrilling 43-35 victory. He was perfect in the second half, going 12-for-12 for three scores. Add in his 59 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown, and you have a performance that screams "Heisman contender."
South Carolina is currently the only crew that has one win but four losses under its belt. As for Mississippi State, Arkansas, Auburn, and Kentucky, the ultimate goal is to become bowl eligible and aim to build on next season, given the three or four losses already in place.
Well, with Penn State at 3-4 and two probable losses looming, they’ll need to beat Nebraska, Rutgers, and Michigan State to become bowl-eligible. As of right now, no outlets have the Nittany Lions slotted for a postseason game EXCEPT FOR COLLEGE FOOTBALL NEWS. Wake Forest would be an interesting matchup. We will of course keep you posted.
