The Ohio State Highway Patrol is taking part in National School Bus Safety Week by raising awareness and focusing their efforts on the road. This week puts the emphasis on safety for school buses and the young students they are transporting.

Hitting a deer with your car can lead to a costly repair bill, but swerving into another lane or ditch can be worse.

A passenger bus in Brazil crashed into a sand embankment and flipped over, killing at least 17 people on Oct. 18. Authorities said the driver lost control of the bus, crossed into the opposite lane and eventually struck the embankment as he was trying to correct.
