A Delta Air Lines flight heading from Atlanta to Los Angeles had to turn around over a "smoky odor" in the plane's cabin, airline officials say.
Delta Air Lines flight 2311 departed from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) on the evening of Oct. 18 with two pilots, four flight attendants and 189 passengers. Shortly into the flight, however, an “unpleasant” smell was detected in the cabin, forcing a return to LAX.
The incident took place on Monday when the SkyWest flight with callsign 6469 bound for Los Angeles International Airport turned around in the air.
