A suspect exited a cargo van on the 110 Freeway and was struck by a passing vehicle Monday night after a police chase ended in Mount Washington.
The occupants were allegedly involved in a fight in Salinas. Eventually, the vehicle entered Santa Cruz County, and California Highway Patrol officers took over the pursuit. The driver dangerously evaded the CHP into Santa Clara County and was eventually stopped in Alameda County.
The EV's Highway Driving Assist seems to have kept it traveling in its lane until the California Highway Patrol pulled in front and caused it to slow down.
If it runs and drives, there’s a likelihood someone will use it to run from the cops. In a prime example of silly decision-making, a car thief attempted to lose the police in a stolen Sacramento-area shuttle for senior citizens and other qualifying riders. Needless to say, the police chase didn’t end well for the shuttle’s thief.
