ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Prison reform advocates in Rochester boarded a bus to Albany on Tuesday morning, aiming to push Gov. Kathy Hochul to sign a bill one year after the beating death of Robert Brooks.
David Kingsley was found guilty of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter. Robert Brooks Jr., Brooks’ son, and Jared Ricks, Brooks’ brother, delivered a victim impact statement in court.
