Road closures for protests in DC Saturday
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced several road closures that will take place due to this protest on Friday. Until 7 p.m. on Saturday, Pennsylvania Avenue from 3rd Street to Constitution Avenue, NW will be posted as emergency no parking and completely closed to vehicle traffic.
Futrelle counted among a crowd of 200,000 in Northwest D.C. – and more than 7 million nationwide – gathered for the second No Kings protests on Oct. 18, a national movement of nonviolence against President Donald Trump’s political agenda.

American University sociologist Dana R. Fisher, who studies activism and often surveys protest participants with her team, determined that although DC’s median age is around 35, at the “Hands Off!” rally in April, the median age of a randomly selected group was 51. It was the oldest crowd at any protest Fisher had ever surveyed.

‘No Kings’ protestors coming to the DMV
Over 30 protests are scheduled to take place in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, drawing crowds to the streets in what No Kings organizers say will be peaceful protests. The main protest is set to start on Pennsylvania Avenue NW and 3rd Street SW, in front of the U.S. Capitol.
