The Two Row wampum belt on display replicates one that was presented by the Unkechaug Indian Nation of Long Island to British governors during the 1670s, the museum said.

Wampum was the widely accepted and preferred method of payment between Native American tribes most notably Iroquois, Narragansett, and Hiawatha for years prior to the settler's arrival.
