Weini Kelati finished second at the Houston Half Marathon in 1:06:09, 16 seconds faster than the time she ran at the race last year.

“For the second consecutive year, Weini Kelati improved on the American record at the Houston Half Marathon,“ Runner’s World reported. ”The 28-year-old finished second in 1:06:09, 16 seconds faster than the time she ran at the race last year.”

Senayet Getachew, 19, of Ethiopia won the Houston Aramco Half Marathon by four seconds over Weini Kelati of the U.S. Kelati set the U.S. record.

For the second year in a row, Weini Kelati sets the American record in the women's half marathon at the Houston Half.

Dominic Ondoro will be going for his third title in the Chevron Houston Marathon on Sunday and Jemail Yimer looks  to repeat in the Aramco Houston Half Marathon
