Delhi Capitals announced the appointment of star all-rounder and the men's team's longest-serving player Axar Patel as captain ahead of the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), according to a release from Delhi Capitals.

IPL 2025 will start on 22 March. This means that only a few days are left for the tournament to start. Earlier, Delhi Capitals has also announced the name of its new captain. Delhi has handed over the command of the team to Akshar Patel in the 18th season.

CSK, GT, KKR, MI, LSG, PBKS, RR, RCB, SRH, and DC have announced their captains for IPL 2025, with notable names like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shubman Gill, and Ajinkya Rahane leading their respective teams.
