Police said units responded to the 100 block of Compass Court for a reported assault just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Monroe Township fire chief was charged with two counts of domestic assault after officers were called to an altercation in Clermont County.
The fire chief says the woman had been asleep and likely survived because the men spotted the flames and woke her up.
