Reuniting onstage for the first time in two decades, Black Sabbath performed to a sold-out crowd of 40,000 with its all-star, one-day-only charity festival Back to the Beginning, held in Ozzy Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham on July 5 and serving as a farewell concert to and celebration of the longtime rocker.

Ozzy Osbourne performed his final concert with Black Sabbath on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, while sitting on a bat-themed throne. The 76-year-old rocker was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019.

The farewell show's all-star line-up included the US rock band Anthrax, with guitarist Frank Bello rocking out here. It was the heavy metal gig to, for many fans, end all heavy metal gigs as Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath bade farewell to live performing supported by a host of legendary music acts in front of 40,000 fans.
