The ancient Roman Colosseum will be the venue of gladiator fights — albeit staged — for the first time in two millennia under a $1.5 million sponsorship deal with Airbnb that aims to promote “a more conscious tourism.

Airbnbs are typically synonymous with cozy getaways, but a new Icons experience from the homeshare company is putting guests right in the action with a new Roman gladiator experience in the Colosseum.

Airbnb is going to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the legendary Colosseum in Rome. The event, taking place on May 7 and May 8, 2025, will be held to commemorate Ridley Scott 's film Gladiator II. Guests will get to relive Ancient Roman Gladiator-like battles. Each session will host up to 16 people, including guests and their plus-ones.
