San Bernardino deputy dies after being shot in head while responding to domestic violence call

A San Bernardino County sheriff's deputy died after being shot by a domestic violence suspect in Rancho Cucamonga Monday, Sheriff Shannon Dicus said. The slain deputy was identified as Andrew Nunez, a six-year veteran with the department. Dicus said he was responding to a domestic violence call before he was shot one time in the head.

Authorities have identified the man who is accused of fatally shooting an Inland Empire deputy before crashing his motorcycle while trying to elude capture. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department told KTLA’s Lauren Lyster that 47-year-old Angelo Jose Saldivar of San Bernardino was the person who fatally shot Deputy Andrew Nunez on Monday.
