An unbeaten fifty by Will Jacks and three-wicket hauls for Sam Curran and Jamie Overton steered England to a nervy 24-run win over Italy in the Twenty20 World Cup on Monday, as the twice champions progressed to the Super Eight stage.

England are given another major fright but hold off tournament debutants Italy by 24 runs to secure a place in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup.

England posted 202 in their 20 overs, Italy were rocked early by Jofra Archer but fought back before falling short by 24 runs.
