According to Automotive News, which first broke the news, Sperlich passed on January 20, 2025, and is survived by Dr. D’Anne Kleinsmith, his wife of 11 years. The nature of his death wasn't disclosed. Ford CEO Jim Farley also issued a statement about Sperlich's passing on X.
