Jesús Sánchez gives the Astros a left-handed bat, something general manager Dana Brown said was a priority for the team entering the trade deadline.

Miami acquired right-handed pitcher Ryan Gusto and two prospects, shortstop Chase Jaworsky (rated by MLB.com as Houston’s No. 13 prospect) and outfielder Esmil Valencia.

The 27-year-old has hit double-digit home runs in each of the past four seasons and gives Houston a much-needed left-handed hitter.
