West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced that he is sending hundreds of National Guard troops from his state to Washington, D.C., to assist with President Donald Trump’s crackdown on violent crime in the capital.

West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey announced the deployment of hundreds of National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., at the Trump administration’s request.

“Weapons are available if needed but will remain in the armory,” the U.S. Army said in a press release Thursday.
