A man has died almost a week after being struck by a bus in Edinburgh. The 81-year-old was seriously injured in the incident at the junction of Annandale Street and Haddington Place, near Elm Row, at about 01:20 on 28 September. Police Scotland confirmed he died in hospital on Saturday.
A BUS service connecting the Scottish Borders and East Lothian with Edinburgh will be scrapped from Monday (October 20).
A suspect has been reported after a teenage boy was chased and attacked after being hit by a coach in Edinburgh. Emergency services received reports of a 17-year-old boy being seriously assaulted in the capital’s South Gyle Access at around 2.50pm on Tuesday.
The 17-year-old sustained serious injuries after being struck by a coach then attacked while lying on the ground.
A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "A teenage male has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal and Children’s Reporter in connection with a serious assault at South Gyle Access, Edinburgh. "The incident took place around 2.50pm on Tuesday, 21 October, 2025.
