Forecasters believe the storm could be the strongest hurricane ever to hit Jamaica, with winds of 175mph (282km/h) Hurricane Melissa will be the "storm of the century" for Jamaica and is expected to cause a "catastrophic situation", an official from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) says, according to Reuters.
The severe weather threat, however, isn't over. A level 1 marginal threat has been issued for storms Friday evening and night in southwestern, western and central Oklahoma. Those storms pose a low tornado risk, but the bigger threat is for flooding because of the amount of rainfall the state is expected to see.
