Stephens City staff presented the Planning Commission with a proposal this week to allow utility-level battery storage in the town’s industrial zoning districts.
Fidra Energy has received planning consent to build and operate a 1.4GW battery storage project at Thorpe Marsh, Yorkshire.
The three standalone systems, developed by esVolta, are expected to reach commercial operations in the first half of 2025.
