NEW YORK (Reuters) -Blackstone told employees on Friday it will reopen its New York headquarters on August 4, a week after shuttering it in the wake of a shooting that killed four people including one of its executives.

A gunman opened fire inside the Manhattan skyscraper that is the headquarters of private-equity firm Blackstone and the NFL, killing four people, including a police officer, before fatally shooting himself on Monday evening, authorities said. Another person was in critical condition, and others suffered less serious injuries.

The incident occurred around 6pm on Monday, 28 July, at 345 Park Avenue in the heart of Manhattan. According to NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, the shooting is still under active investigation, with authorities seeking clarity on the attacker’s motivation.
