Shohei Ohtani made his first appearance on the mound since August of 2023, a consequence a September surgery to repair damage in his throwing elbow. While Ohtani was able to excel as the Dodgers' designated hitter in 2024, the real draw was his ability to pitch at an elite level while also swinging a hot bat in the same game.

It had been 663 days between pitching appearances, depriving baseball fans of the famed wicked four-seam fastball and splitter that they have marveled at from the sport’s most unique player.

That's because Shohei Ohtani will be making his Dodgers pitching debut tonight, which will be his first time on the mound since the 2023 season.
