A New Zealand woman was arrested on a child neglect charge Sunday after a bus driver found a 2-year-old girl alive in a suitcase that was stowed in the vehicle’s luggage compartment, authorities said.

The 2-year-old girl was discovered Sunday in the luggage compartment of a bus after the driver noticed the suitcase moving, the police said.

Police were called to a bus depot in Kaiwaka – about 62 miles north of Auckland – after a bus driver became concerned about a bag moving.
