Nov 22, 2008 · Wind over 20 mph ducks will sit still. Ducks will land into wind true to a degree, but fly with wind upon morning flight. So when you set up remember, wind at your back they will be at your back first most often before they turn to come in for a landing.

Oct 20, 2023 · If you keep your shots under 30 yards you should be golden with just about any steel 4 or 3 shot on the market. Steel 3s are a better all around shot size for big ducks in my opinion. Out to 40 yards I'd say steel 3 shot maybe even 2s for big ducks later in the season. Honestly I don't like steel 4s for big ducks and find 3s to be a better option.

Feb 17, 2008 · 2 - Pressure treated wood has Chemicals in it that could potentially harm the Ducks. 3 - Attach your pole to the back of the nesting box with a couple "U" straps. Make sure to put a predator guard on the pole.

Friday started slow as we were trying to figure them out and finished with 2 Found a spot off the interstate with a ton of birds Friday evening. Got a late start Saturday at 1030. It was 32 and dumping rain.

Feb 21, 2010 · I planted 3 different times 2 weeks apart. Then,come late August, everything was looking good, and dang blackbirds hit it.... hundreds of them everyday!!! Needless to say, no millet for the ducks Luckily, my slough has plenty of native vegetation, which has always drew in the ducks. Next year, I am just gonna save my dollars and not plant ...

Jan 2, 2017 · There were a lot of opportunities to kill a lot of ducks on a big pond this season, but the big groups all landed just outside shooting range if I were to sit on the dike. The water was only about 6 inches deep to where it would have been perfect to sit and hide. The hunters in my state use a coffin that runs about $180.

Oct 29, 2019 · Conclusion: Shoot bismuth, it puts the ducks down quickly and for good. Yes, it is more expensive than steel (much less than tungsten though) but figure this, if you shoot one steel shot shell to knock a bird down then 1-3 more as wounded shots at $1.25 a round how is that more beneficial than one shell at $2.25 a round?

Nov 3, 2008 · For them ducks are the most important thing Sep-Jan, but god forbid they do anything after the season. Writing a check is fine if they can win something, but try to get them to give up a Saturday to help improve habitat, they would shoot their wife to get out of that.
