Even on quiet weather days, Mother Nature keeps it interesting‼️ NIWA's hi-res model is forecasting the development of a von Kármán vortex cloud street this evening downwind of Mt Taranaki ☁️ 🏔️ Here's the science behind it: 1) Air blows toward a large barrier (in this case Mt Taranaki). 2) Mt Taranaki disturbs the prevailing southeast airflow. 3) The air is forced to rush around either side of the tall, 2518 m peak. 4) As the air is diverted around the peak, it moves past in the form of vortic
