As one creature leaves, another one arrives. This morning Ivor Poleson turned up at our door to report an abandoned grey seal pup at Heylor here in Northmavine. He had been watching her all morning and realised she had clearly lost her mother in the weekend storm with its gale force north westerly winds that have so often washed pups into Ronas Voe over the years. 35 years ago there were over a hundred that washed in, 45 of which we managed to rescue before they were attacked by gulls.
