One of our park biologists stumbled across this Green sea turtle returning to the ocean after nesting on the beach on Tuesday. Green sea turtles, which are an endangered species, are infrequent nesters on our beaches and generally come ashore during the night to nest. Not only did this turtle nest during daylight hours, but it is the first time that we've caught one "in the act"! (woo hoo!) The park now has over 500 sea turtle nests (and counting) for the season.
