Recruit Course 100 graduating yesterday was a huge milestone for QFES. More than 1,800 firefighters have passed through recruit training since Recruit Course 1 in 1987 with the skill set of firefighters changing and improving along the way. We have added 22 new firies to the team and celebrated the history of the fire service in Queensland. Over the past four weeks, 20 QFES and four Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) personnel spent time at Whyte Island undertaking their Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) category two training.
