Te Ara o Te Ata is a new 6km route we're constructing on State Highway 3 in North Taranaki to replace the existing steep, narrow and winding route over Mt Messenger. With large roading projects like Mt Messenger, we use a wide range of powerful machinery. This 'crawler crane' is 200t and has played a key role in forming the temporary staging structure you can see in this video.
